The number 666, which appears in the apocalyptic Biblical Book of Revelation authored by John of Patmos, has stirred up controversy since its inclusion into the Christian canon in the 5th<\/sup> Century CE.\u00a0 <\/span>Biblical scholarship has dated this tract to 95 CE. \u00a0<\/span>According to the Wikipedia article entitled Apocalyptic Literature:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cApocalyptic literature<\/span><\/b> is a genre of prophetical writing that developed in post-exilic Jewish culture and was popular among millennialist early Christians. \u201cApocalypse\u201d is a Greek word meaning \u201crevelation\u201d, \u201can unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling.\u201d As a genre, apocalyptic literature details the authors\u2019 visions of the end times as revealed by a heavenly messenger or Angel. The apocalyptic literature of Judaism and Christianity embraces a considerable period, from the centuries following the exile down to the close of the middle ages.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The period of time involved for the writing of this type of literature spans approximately 1000 years or between the 2nd<\/sup> Century BCE to the 9th<\/sup> Century CE. The Book of Revelations in the Christian canon dates to the early 1st<\/sup> Century CE. Chapter 13, verses 16-18 of this text state:<\/span><\/p>\n

16\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17\u00a0<\/sup>so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.<\/span><\/p>\n

18\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is 666.<\/span><\/p>\n

666 is pronounced in the Greek of the New Testament as <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>hexakosioi hexakonta hex which was written in Greek in the Book of Revelation as the number <\/span><\/span>chi-xi-stigma. The Hebrew equivalent is mem samech waw or \u2018msw\u2019. The number has been the subject of much controversy and many a student of gematria has attempted to apply this esoteric numerical system to discover the name meant by the number 666. Among the many gematrian candidates for the title of 666, Nero has been one of the most popular as his name in Hebrew, Nron Qsr or Caesar Nero, adds up to the number 666. However, the Greek number <\/span><\/span>hexakosioi hexakonta hex can be interpreted in another way without using the mystical methods employed by numerologists.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of looking for names whose letters add up to 666, one can view the number as a series of \u2018hs\u2019 or \u2018hexes\u2019. The key here appears to be the Greek series of numbers whose initial letters are<\/span><\/span> pronounced as an \u2018h\u2019. There are a series of 3 numbers, 600, 60 and 6, but they all make up one number, 666, which in Greek all begin with \u2018hex\u2019. These three numbers are individual numbers but they combine to make one full number. So, one may surmise that there are 3 individuals whose names begin with an \u2018h\u2019 and who are descended from a patriarch of the same name as the individuals. These 3 individuals, whose names begin with \u2018h,\u2019 must have represented a ruling dynasty as they were able to force their subjects to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads so they could conduct commerce. This ruling dynasty was in collusion with \u2018the beast\u2019 and had become a part of the beast itself. Their education, their loyalty and their dynasty were all a part of the \u2018beast\u2019. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the 13th chapter of Revelation, there appears the sea dragon or simply the sea who is Yam aka Leviathan in Job 41. Yam is the ancient Semitic word for \u2018sea\u2019 and Leviathan is the Biblical name for the sea monster (stormy sea) who stirred the waters of the deep in stormy weather. According to this chapter, the sea dragon or simply \u2018the sea\u2019 gave power to the beast.\u00a0 <\/span>So, one may safely conclude that the beast was a regional power which had command of the sea and sea routes. According to this chapter, the beast had 7 heads and10 crowns. One of the heads was wounded but healed. All worshiped the beast who had killed the \u2018lamb\u2019, an animal which the early Pauline influenced Christian community associated with Jesus.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The beast is obviously Rome which had 7 hills and ruled 10 foreign provinces. The wounded head refers to the first Jewish Roman wars (66CE) where Rome suffered an initial severe defeat at the hands of the Zealots, who were anti Roman revolutionaries. According to Wikipedia article \u201cRoman-Jewish Wars\u201d: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span><\/span>In response to the Roman plunder of the 2nd<\/sup> Jewish Temple and the execution of up to 6,000 Jews in Jerusalem, a full-scale rebellion erupted. The Roman military garrison of Judaea was quickly overrun by rebels, while the pro-Roman king (Herod) Agrippa II together with Roman officials fled Jerusalem. As it became clear the rebellion was getting out of control, Cestius Gallus, the legate of Syria, brought the Syrian army, based on XII Fulminata and reinforced by auxiliary troops, to restore order and quell the revolt. Despite initial advances, the Syrian Legion was ambushed and defeated by Jewish rebels at the Battle of Beth Horon with 6,000 Romans massacred and the Legio aquilla<\/i> lost – a result that shocked the Roman leadership.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The ruling Judean dynasty at the time was the Herodian dynasty. Herod (77 BCE-4 BCE) divided Roman occupied Palestine into an ethnarch and 2 tetrarchs ruled by his 3 sons: Herod Archelaus (23 BCE \u2013 18 CE), Herod Antipas (20 BCE \u2013 39 CE) and Herod Philip II who was married to Salome, daughter of Herod\u2019s granddaughter Herodias and his son Herod II. Yes, it was that Salome and Herodias who ultimately caused the death of the Baptist. The Herodian rule gradually diminished and finally ended in 92 CE.<\/span><\/p>\n

Herod was especially hated by Zealot (anti Roman rebels) sympathizers and orthodox Hebrews because he installed the Roman eagle over the temple entrance. While he greatly expanded the 2nd<\/sup> temple, he also built temples for other religions. He earned the hatred, not only of the Zealots, but the Pharisees and Sadducees as well. In addition, according to the Gospels, the Herodian dynasty oversaw the execution of 2 key religious leaders, the Baptist and the Nazarene. These 2 were considered by their followers as founders of religious sects which eventually deviated greatly from Judaism to become Christian and Mandaean Sects.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is an argument that Herod\u2019s name begins with the 8th<\/sup> Greek numerical letter (h) while \u2018hex\u2019 is the 6th<\/sup> Greek numerical letter. This argument is untenable as the Greek number 666 is written in Revelation with the corresponding Greek letters chi-xi-stigma and it is never spelled out as hexakosioi hexakonta hex. So, one must look only to the similarity in the pronunciation of the initial \u2018hs\u2019 in this number to the pronunciation of the \u2018h\u2019 in the name Herod. The number 6 was chosen as the number of man in this chapter of Revelation because, according to Genesis, Adam or man was created on the 6th<\/sup> day. However, the Greek numerical letter 8, which is comparable to the initial letter in Herod\u2019s name, \u00a0<\/span>is also pronounced as an \u2018h\u2019 and may be applied to Herod and his 7 sons. This list begins with the patriarch, Herod the Great, and then his 7 sons: Antipater, Alexander, Aristobulus, Herod II, Herod Archelaus, Herod Antipas and Herod Philip aka Philip the Tetrarch.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is also interesting that certain religious \u2018scholars\u2019 in the Middle Ages saw the \u2018hex\u2019 number 666 expressed in the hexagram currently known as the \u2018Star of David\u2019 or the ‘Shield (Magan) of David\u2019, which has 6 sides, 6 triangles and 6 points. The English word \u2018hex\u2019 or curse is derived from the Greek word for the number 6. However, the hexagram became a Jewish fertility symbol that emerged from the Tantric influenced Cabala and dates to the Middle Ages. It is composed of 2 triangles in which the apex or tip of the lower triangle fully penetrates the upper triangle so that its tip emerges from the base of the upper triangle. The upper triangle represents the pubic area of the goddess and the lower triangle represents the penis of the god. The hexagram is then a symbol of divine copulation. The polygon formed in the middle of the merged triangles symbolizes the womb which nurtures the ‘spark of existence’ or ‘bindu’ . This hexagram is known as the Sri Yantra to the Hindus. As a fertility symbol which portrayed the act of copulation, the hexagram was thought to contain powerful magic as the pro-creative process was thought to be comparable to the creative process of the fertility god, who, in this case, was YHWH. <\/span>The hexagram was used both as a tool to invoke curses and as a protective talisman. It can still be seen carved on lintels in Palestine.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The hexagram or Star of David has absolutely no ancient connection to the \u2018number of the Beast\u2019 or 666. However, this hexagram became the symbol of the Zionist political agenda of the European Jews (aka Ashkenazim) who have traced their ancestry to the Scythians or grass nomads whose homeland was the southern Russian Steppes before they migrated into Europe and from there colonized Palestine. These Zionists terrorized, murdered and ethnically cleansed the indigenous Palestinian population whose ancestral roots have been traced through DNA to the original inhabitants of Palestine when they were known as Canaanites. DNA evidence has proven that the original Hebrews were Canaanites who subscribed to a branch of the Canaanite religion which became known as Yahwism (worshipers of YHWH) or Judaism. This indigenous population, now known as Palestinians, were terrorized, murdered and driven from the land that they had called home for thousands of years by a people related to Scythians who converted to Judaism in the 8th Century CE, invented the political philosophy, Zionism, ravaged Palestine and then declared the land as the Zionist state of Israel. In view of the foregoing history, the number of the Beast, the hexagram or 666, has become a fitting emblem for this illegal state.

An interesting side note is the Hebrew numerical equivalent to chi-xi-stigma (666), mem samech waw (msw), means a message in modern Hebrew when it is interpreted as a word. To John of Patmos the message was clear.\u00a0 Herod, the Roman collaborator and his 3 appointed sons: Herod Archelaus (6), Herod Antipas (6) and Herod Philip (6), as rulers of Judea were traitors who conspired with the Romans to occupy Palestine, brutally oppress the local population and murder and attempt to murder 2 great prophets, John the Baptist and Jesus. The Herodian Dynasty was John of Patmos’ Beast, 666, and a fitting designation for the modern Zionist state that illegally occupies this land today.
